Pastoral Care

BeFrienders

BeFriender Ministry - A Listening Presence is a national, ecumenical organization that provides leadership training and program support for a listening ministry of lay pastoral care in churches, healthcare institutions, and long-term care facilities. St. John's has several members who have gone through many, many hours of training and are ready when needed. If you are in need of a listening ear, please contact the office at 734-453-0190 or pikegami@stjohnsplymouth.org.

Eucharistic Visitors (EV)

Eucharistic Visitors are lay parishioners trained and licensed by the diocese to take communion to the homebound. If you or a family member are in need this service, please contact the office at 734-453-0190 or pikegami@stjohnsplymouth.org.

Homebound, Sick, and Elderly

Laypersons and clergy visit members who are homebound or in the hospital. If you or a family member need a pastor, please contact the office at 734-453-0190 or pikegami@stjohnsplymouth.org. For emergencies during off hours during our pastoral transition, contact our senior warden Shelley Zalewski at 248-756-2420. Aided by a priest in the area and/or a SJP Eucharistic Visitor, we will work to address the need promptly.

Miss Millie's Medical Loan Closet

This ministry began in memory of a wonderful woman and Church member, Mrs. Mildred (Millie) Caroline Hein. Her daughter started the loan closet with items used by Miss Millie to aide her in living at home with family during her final years. Thanks to our donors, the loan closet has grown with a wide variety of medical items (wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, commodes, etc.) for home use. Items are available to anyone in the Plymouth/Canton community who needs them, preferrably for short term use) and are to be returned when they are no longer needed.

If you or a family members are in need of medical equipment, please call the church office at 734-453-0190 or email the Parish Administator. The Parish Administrator will notify the Miss Millie's volunteers of your request. A Miss Millie's volunteer will contact you by phone within 24 hours.

If you have medical equipment to donate, please call the church office at 734-453-0190 or email and we will determine if we can utilize the items you have to donate, or we can help you with other resources if we are unable to use your donations.
