Our Community Ministries
St. John's Food Pantry
St. John's stocks a full-service Food Pantry. The Pantry serves local residents in need by appointment only. A menu is sent via email so you can choose your needs. Your food is ready for non-contact pick-up.
If you need the Pantry, please email the parish administrator at stjohnsfoodpantry@stjohnsplymouth.org.
St. John's House
In partnership with Samaritas, we renovated our former Youth House as a temporary residence for newly arrived refugees.
St. John's and the Plymouth community came together to provide a haven for new American families. With our support, refugees can begin living independently within 6 to 12 months.
Miss Millie's Closet
Miss Millie's Closet lends durable medical equipment. There is no charge for loans, but we request that the equipment be returned clean and in the same condition as it was found (excluding normal wear and tear).
Loans are intended to be short-term, 3-6 months, but this varies with individual needs.
Crossroads Ministry
Crossroads has been a part of St. John’s outreach for decades. In addition to donations of clothing, winter coats, and other items as needed, St. John’s is responsible for four Sunday dinners at Crossroads each year.
Dinners range from the favorite simple menu of chili dogs and fixings to our traditional Christmas Dinner.
For information about our Ministries, submit the contact form, and a representative from the group will contact you.
Community Groups
St. John's provides meeting space for community groups that help others.
Al-Anon
Meets Saturday mornings at 8 a.m. Al-Anon members are people, just like you, who are worried about someone with a drinking problem. This group is designed to help families and friends of alcoholics recover from the effects of living with the problem of drinking of a relative or friend.
Narcotics Anonymous
Meets every Monday at 7 p.m. The group provides a forum for addicts to share their experiences and what they did to overcome their problems. Sharing experiences helps provide answers to the day-to-day problems addicts encounter with their disease.
PFLAG
Meets the second Sunday of the month at 3 p.m. This group units people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) with families, friends, and allies. PFLAG is committed to advancing equality through its mission of support, education, and advocacy.
SAIL
Solutions for Adult Interdependent Living was established by a group of parents committed to finding housing solutions for adults with developmental disabilities. SAIL encourages each family to be the architects of their loved ones’ housing solution – allowing them to live safely and independently.
