Disarmory Ministries and St. John’s Episcopal Church Host 2nd Annual Unwanted Firearm Collection Event in Plymouth
Community-led initiative offers gift cards, safe firearm disposal, and art activities to remove 100 million passively acquired guns from circulation.
PLYMOUTH, MI, August 1, 2026— As news of community gun violence continues to affect families nationwide, a local Michigan partnership is taking direct action to make neighborhoods safer. Disarmory Ministries—the nation’s pioneering continuous gun buyback program—has partnered with St. John’s Episcopal Church to host Plymouth’s 2nd Annual Unwanted Firearm Disposal Event on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
National surveys indicate that over 25% of firearm owners acquired their weapons through non-purchase transfers, such as inheritance or gifts. This represents an estimated 100 million firearms across the country, suggesting that a massive portion of gun owners acquire weapons passively rather than intentionally.

What: 2nd Annual Plymouth Unwanted Firearm Collection When: Saturday, September 19, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Where: St. John’s Episcopal Church, 574 Sheldon Road, Plymouth, MI 48170 Incentives & Highlights: Receive gift cards in exchange for surrendered firearms.
$50/rifle or long gun, $100 for pistols, $200 for assault style rifles, $300 maximum per donor. Donors must remain on site while firearms are destroyed.

Experience creative arts and crafts demonstrations converting disabled firearm components into unique pieces of artwork.
