“Every generous act of giving, with every perfect gift, is from above…”

James 1:17 NRSV

Dear Supporters of St. John’s,

I am writing to thank you for your gift of support because I am so very grateful for all the ways that this community has met the challenges of this year and found common ways to share a community of love and joy with our neighbors.

This year we have had to face challenges we thought would be behind us by now. The challenges of the continued pandemic and still being “in transition” have tested our patience and sometimes our resolve. Yet as always St. John’s persists, and we reap the rewards of our patience. In what could be called “another tough year” we haven’t come up short. Instead, we’ve been blessed in so many ways.

We have learned how much we appreciate our time together, face to face. We were recently reminded just how beautiful and peaceful our worship space is, as we walked into it for the first time in over a year. We have tried new ways of worship, outdoors and online, and we have welcomed new members. We’ve been blessed with new volunteers who have shared a whole new set of skills with the community. We have made an investment in new technology to improve our online communications. We have new vendors taking great care of our building and grounds, and soon we will have an updated Gathering space. Most recently, we have complete and posted our Parish Profile to advertise the official search for our next Rector. It’s a time to be proud, hopeful, and grateful.

All these things remind us how “every perfect gift is from above.” Everything that we receive and everything we give comes from God. Thank you for your giving and for being a part of it all. I look faithfully to the year ahead and hope you will continue to support St. John’s on this journey.

Please join me in making a pledge of support for 2022.

With love and gratitude,

Jayne Watson
