How we use our time, the gifts of our hands and hearts, and the treasure of our lives matter.
How we fulfill this commitment is up to each of us. Remember that giving back to God a portion of what He has given to us is crucial to spiritual health.
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)
God has provided everything that we have, so the act of returning a portion of this gift to God should be done in a prayerful manner as a show of faith. The point isn’t about how much we give but the gratitude with which the gift is made. When we give freely to God’s work through the work of our parish, we reap bountifully both inside our parish and externally through our outreach programs.
Our response to God’s generosity and gift is to
in the world through the stewardship of our lives.
